We are so excited for our second annual Weekend Floral Retreat! This is something you are sure to remember! Limited to only 15 students, this retreat is the perfect weekend to escape from the ordinary and recharge, refresh and lean all about flowers!

How’s this: Treat yourself to a weekend escape to the country side at our French Peasant Gardens & charming 1830’s Stone Cottage Studio. For overnight accommodate suggestions connect with elaine@fromthepottingshed.com.

Set fast lane living aside! After your pretty drive up our country laneway, you’ll be greeted on the front porch with prosecco! We will start by kicking off the weekend with a ‘Happy Hour’ welcome reception on Friday evening and enjoy a beautiful cheese board from Ces’t Cheese Please. We will tour the French Peasant Gardens, review the weekend schedule and share introductions.

Those who choose to take advantage of overnight accommodations, can then make their way over to check-in for their weekend stay.

Enter Saturday morning. Who said Mimosa? Yes please! Then roll up you’re sleeves, time to rock & roll! We will be hunting and gathering flowers and foliage in the garden and the beautiful countryside – so dress for outdoors. Next up – no sense waiting – let’s get right in there – let’s start creating beautiful fashion bouquets – the kind you see in Wedding Bells Magazine! (Did you see us on the cover of the last issue? These bouquets are REALLY special – and sell for $195+ each!)

We will be designing a stunning arrangement in one of our beautiful Hand-crafted Stone French Reproduction Garden Urns – made by one of our local artists – something we often create for weddings at Langdon Hall’s Summer House.

And as if that’s not enough – we will end the day with a glass of wine & design on graph paper a breathtaking paisley rose petal carpet, ready to install the following morning.Sunday we will welcome the day with a group Brunch at Langdon Hall – fuel for a busy day! (Did you know we are their in-house florist?) Brunch will be followed by a guided tour of Langdon Hall to see some of the most beautiful settings for weddings (Take notes! We will be designing decor for these spaces back at the Stone Cottage Studio!)

Back at the Studio – the day will be all about Celebration Flowers!
We will learn about one of the hottest trends of the year – arbour decor and oblesik designs! Out in the garden we will style a beautiful French Oblesik, pergola, and arbour – making the perfect backdrops for magical ceremonies! Lunch will lead by our private Chef – a menu inspired by fresh herbs. Feel welcome to quiz Elaine on ideas for culinary herbs! Be prepared to forage – he might ask you to grab some herbs from our potted gardens!

After lunch, we will begin our last project: aisle decor – oh what fun! From chair swags, floral sprigs, to beautiful hanging antique mason jars, you’ll learn how to make that walk down the aisle an extra special one! Designed to then be moved to the reception and set in pretty vases. At last, our very special project – we will install our breathtaking paisley rose petal carpet. Get your cameras ready!

Before you go home, enjoy some light refreshments and take some time to get those profile picture and instagram-worthy photographs so you can capture the moment and special day. We’ll send you home with a Certificate of Completion and memories that will last a lifetime! We’ll have a professional photographer on hand – so invite your friends & family for our final happy hour!

BONUS! Take home all the beautiful florals you create!
