You cannot help but be struck by Andrea’s smile. Her zest for life is rather contagious. Even with the rain!
Andrea had thought out her wedding decor down to the fine details. “Rustic but elegant – fun, whimsical – shabby chic – but not cute – not contrived”. She wanted to incorporate mason jars, twine, & burlap.
Andrea’s flowers? “Well-tossed-together” garden bouquets, with a touch of the meadow in coral colours with creams & ivory. Most of our brides have not thought it out to this extent – still we managed to offer up some ideas for fine tweaking!
It came together so nicely !
About 2 weeks before Andrea’s big day, we got together again, along with her Bridesmaids, for what we like to call our “Flower Party”. This was a bit of a challenge as they were all working out of town at the time and live in the heart of Toronto (& in the middle of TIFF).
We met up at Banting House B & B with buckets of in-season-flowers in various shades of coral, orange, melon, peace & ivory (and a couple bottles of wine!). Creativity flowed!
A grand sized bouquet was planned for the bride and a nose-gay for bridesmaids. Everyone had a try at wrapping the stems and French-braiding the garden twine.
Ingredients for her September Bouquet…
- Ivory hydrangea
- Burnt orange dahlia
- Rose Milva
- Rose Vendella
- Rose Juliet
- Rose O’Hara
- Spray Rose
- Persian Lily
- Seeded Eucalyptus
Andrea had her heart set on Ranuncula – but that is an early spring flower – darn!
Check it out !!!
We managed to score some Ranuncula at the last minute – forced into bloom – from a grower’s greenhouse! Surprise!
